Journal Entry: February 15, 2004

Not a whole lot this week. The weather has been warm, then chilly, then cold, then rainy. Work has been going along okay, though, and that's good.

Wednesday I went to get my nails done by Louise. She'd changed shops, and this was the first time I'd been there. Lawton, my hairdresser and her boyfriend, was on the watch for me, and he leaned out the window as I crossed the street to shout over the traffic noise which shop she was in, as there are two right close to each other. Anyway, it was good to see her again. Afterwards, I walked to the Red Lion, and Rachel Addison and Liz Kirby and I met up for a few pints. We had a good time, just catching up with each other.

Friday was Rachel's leaving do at Wetherspoons. A group of us went there to cheer her on. She will be off for about 10 days, and then she starts with her new firm, where she will have all the ASDA accounts. Quite a reponsibility, and we are all happy for her, as she is quite happy herself. It was a rainy evening, and Bruce came in for a bit. About 10pm he and I shared a taxi home.

On Saturday Liz came round about 1pm. She'd been working in the office, and she had called to see if I wanted to go have lunch. It was still a rainy, cloudy day, and we headed to the Masons Arms. We had a very nice lunch. I had beef cobbler with red wine sauce, and she had steak pie. We couldn't begin to finish it all. Aferwards, we went to Sainsbury's to do some shopping, then back to the flat for me, and off home for her.

That evening Lawton and Louise came over for dinner. I'd invited them, since after all, I was kind of their cupid, since I had sort of been instrumental in their finally going out on their first date! We had such a nice time! They've now been together for 4 months, and are so much in love! It had finally finished raining when they left around 11pm, which was a good thing! I got things cleaned up and straightened up, and took myself to bed.

Today I had planned to go to the office to do some work about 9am. However, I guess I was really tired, as I slept until after 10am. When I awoke, it was raining again and dreary. I got up, made coffee, read the paper, and just had a lazy, lazy day. One of the neighbors stopped by, and we had a chat, and then she went on her way. So not an exciting week, but a good one.

You all take care, and I hope you all had a Happy Valentine's Day.

Love,

Denny
