February 25, 2007

First of all, I had passed on some photos of my flat, as so many have asked to see pictures of the finished product. Well, here they are, and I hope that Chuck has had success with receiving them. I must say, I sent the photos, and then I realized I could possibly send them a quicker way, and so I did. Thus, he's probably wound up with two sets. You all know I'm dangerous with electrical things! Enjoy!!!

Our weather has been rather unsettled and cooler than previous weeks. It seems as though winter just wants to keep teasing us and holding on for as long as it can. We had some cold evenings, and days, this week, then it warmed up, then cold again!

All week long I'd been searching for a Bundt pan. There is a cake I want to make, and I had so much difficulty finding it. I eventually gave up and just ordered one online. Well, on Saturday I was in town and went into Barnitts, and there was one. I'd called to ask if they had one, but was told no. I had described it, as I thought it might have a different name. Anyway, I was speaking with the salesperson, and I asked her what she would call it. She didn't have a clue! Oh well, the one I'd ordered online was much cheaper, and at least I have it. Now, I can make the cake.

On Friday after work I'd gone to get my nails done by Louise who runs Lawton Henry Nails & Beauty. We hadn't seen each other for some time, and it was so good to catch up with her. I left there and headed to do some grocery shopping, and then it was back home. I'd been feeling a bit "head stuffy" all day; so I took some of my sinus medicine and had an early bed. Next morning, I was as good as new.

Saturday I headed to town, going to Barnitts, as I said, to a few other shops, and of course, into Newgate Market to see Teri Rhodes and her mum at their stall. We had a good visit, and Teri was relating the latest problems with her home remodeling. British workmen! The stories we could both tell, as could so many others, but there's neither time nor space! Suffice it to say, they are behind schedule, haven't turned up when they said they would, either call at the last minute or don't call at all, etc. I could certainly sympathize with her.

I headed home after our visit, and then I wanted to get things together for the evening. I was joining Peter Gibson and Gareth for dinner at the home of Kate Addy and John Coulson. What a good evening we had! However, I'd printed off Oscar ballots, as we thought they would be on that evening. The red carpet ceremony was to be at 11:30pm, and then the show would start at 12:30am. Wouldn't you know it, we got all settled in to watch, and no show! It's on TONIGHT!!! What to do? We just visited and drank some more, and then we all headed to bed.

This morning Kate had prepared a delicious breakfast, and then we three were headed home. I came home and did a wash, and then did some ironing, etc., and have rested. I am headed back to their home, as Kate and I are going to watch them, and well, we will just be tired tomorrow for work!

So happy Oscar eve to you all!

Love,

Denny
