March 18 , 2007

What a good week! Our weather continued to inch towards spring, what with warmer temperatures, sunny days, little or no rain, etc. HOWEVER, that all came to a screeching halt on Saturday evening! More later!!!

Work progressed well all week, and on Tuesday I was off in the afternoon, as usual, for my acupuncture. I do feel so much better after a session with them, and I most definitely would urge anyone suffering with any kind of pain to give your local acupuncturist a try.

Afterwards, I went to meet Tracey Riby and Kim Youngman at an Indian restaurant we had decided to try. As luck would have it, it was closed! Therefore, we decided to go to the old Chinese standby, Royal Dragon. We had a really good meal and a wonderful visit. It had been way too long since we had seen Kim. I took Tracey home afterwards, and then it was home for me as well.

On Thursday after work, Terry Downs, the decorator who painted my flat, came round for a visit. It had been months since we had seen each other, and it was good to have a nice catch-up.

The rest of the week progressed, what with me planning to join many on Friday after work to go to Jonathan Linton's leaving do from Minster Law. First, however, it was Red Nose Day For Comic Relief. We were asked to conbribute to the fund if we decided to wear red, which of course I did! I had on my red nose and my red ears, of course! Well, I got to feeling poorly late Friday afternoon, and I wasn't able to make it to Jonathan's leaving do! I understand there were quite a number of people out, and what a good time they all had.

On Saturday I was into town and in the market, visiting with my friends Teri and Bess Rhodes, bought some birthday cards for friends, did some shopping, and then I headed home. I unpacked and put things away, got myself changed, and then I was off to Harrogate. I was meeting Pam Powell and Dana Dennis, as we were going to have dinner there. We met at Cattlemen's Association, and had a very nice, friendly and personable waiter, Andy. We told him we were interested in Mexican food, and he told us to try Salsa Posada, a sister restaurant, just a few blocks away. He'd worked there before coming to Cattlemen's. We had a couple of drinks with him, and he told us to come back to his place for steaks, ribs or burgers, and we will! Afterwards, as Salsa Posada didn't open until 5pm, we walked around a bit and then went into Hale's Bar, an historic pub in Harrogate. We left there and walked over to Salsa Posada and were greeted by Alyson, the manager, who was also very friendly and attentive. We told her Andy had sent us, and she made us feel right at home. The food was delicious, and we will most definitely return!!

When we left to return to our cars, the wind was blowing, it was cold and the rain was coming down! We scurried to the parking garage and then headed our separate ways. What a good day!

Today, I woke up to a sunny day and got myself ready for church. I left the building and it was sunny, and the church is only 10 minutes' walk from me, and during that time the sky turned dark, then black, and then it started blowing snow all over the place! It got colder and I hurried on to church. By the time I entered, it stopped! When I left, the sun was out again! I came home and did some ironing, straightening up and lo and behold, it started blowing snow again, harder and faster than the first time! Here the daffodils are out all over town, and there were worries that because of the warming weather, they wouldn't be around for Easter. Well, it's not warm now, there are forecasts of more snow for Monday and Tuesday from an Artic blast, and who knows what will happen to the poor daffodils!!

So as I sit here warming myself and hear the wind whistling outside, I hope that each of you have had a wonderful week. All the best!

Love,

Denny
