May 20 , 2007

Our week was a busy one, and our weather was a mixture of sunny, cloudy, rainy, and windy; sometimes all on the say day. Most of the time, though, regardless of the weather, it was humid.

Tuesday after work I came home and got ready to meet Sally Corrie and Kate Addy at York Theatre Royal to “The Boy Friend”. We thoroughly enjoyed it, and we left in high spirits. Kate had to head home, but Sally and I walked around to The Hole In The Wall to have a drink and catch up, as it's been some time since we had seen each other. Well, there was live music going on in there; so we walked down the street to The Three Legged Mare, found a table, and caught up with each other, and then we headed home about 10:30pm. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

The rest of the week continued, and then on Saturday I was in town, as usual, getting errands. I had to go to Clinton Cards to buy a box for a birthday present, then off to get a battery for my watch, which had stopped at 8:07am on Friday, get fruits and vegs, etc. It had started out overcast, there was some sprinkling of rain, but the sun did come out and it warmed up. I got back home, and I'd not been home long when the wind picked up and rain came pouring down, but just for a few minutes, and it was all over. Got my ironing done, straightened things up in the flat, and then it was about time for me to go and visit Liz Kirby.

She had fixed Beef Stroganoff for us for dinner that evening, and we had a delightful time and good food. I headed home about ten, full and happy. She and her husband, Richard, are headed to Malta today for a week. Nice for some!!

Today I awoke to very sad news. My dear friend of many years standing, Jean Heard, had collapsed on Thursday, so I was told by email from her daughter, Kay, and was in the hospital. Reports show that she has had several strokes, but she is responding, squeezing hands, recognizes some voices, and trying to open her eyes. Please add her to your pray list, and if you would like to contact Kay for an update, her email is slax2006@gmail.com for those of you who know John and Jean.

Today I also went over to John Coulson and Kate Addy's home for a quick visit and to return some DVDs to them. We had a nice, but short, visit, and then I had to go to the supermarket to pick up a few things for the house. That's about it from here. I do so hope you all have had a good week.

Love,

Denny
