Frst
of all, I'm glad to report that Jean Heard has begun to
respond to people's voices, can do a bit of talking, is
able to respond to commands such as "squeeze my hand",
etc. It is still a long road of recovery and rehabilitation
ahead for her, but being the fighter she is, I hope and
pray she pulls through it all.
Our week was a warm one, with the air being heavy with
humidity. On Tuesday I was out to Northern
College of Acupuncture for my regular
session. All went well, and I then headed home, to rest
after the treatment.
Thursday, a group of us from work headed to Henry
J Beans for a couple of drinks before
walking down the street to Rustique
for dinner. After everyone had heard me rave about it
so often, they'd decided that was where they wanted to
go. Imagine, I'm the only foreigner in the group of nine,
and not one of them had been there before, and most of
them had never heard of it! Well, they all thoroughly
enjoyed it, and they all said they would definitely return.
Our food and service were very good! Afterwards, some
of the hearty ones decided to head on for a few more drinks.
I declined, as I was out the following night again, and
I knew I had a full day at work the next day. Jane Greenall's
partner, Richard, came to pick us up, and they kindly
dropped me off at home.
Friday was another full and good day at work, and afterwards
I headed back to Henry J Beans
for Ishraq Denha's leaving do. She was leaving the old
company to go to new pastures in Sheffield.
I didn't stay long, but I had a good time visiting with
former colleagues, some of whom I'd not seen in some time.
On Saturday the day started nice enough, but the weathermen
had said that would be the nicest day of the weekend.
Naturally! I was up and out and took cleaning to Johnson's
Dry Cleaning, then on to Aldi
to do a bit of shopping, and finally to Iceland
to finish up; well, more or less finish up. I got everything
back home, unpacked and put away. I then headed to York
Theatre Royal to pick up tickets for
How
To Succeed Without Really Trying, and also for
Wuthering
Heights, which will include a cream
tea. “So veddy English, my deah!” My friends
Sally and Kate will be going with me to this production,
and Kate found that they do a cream tea at the Saturday
matinee performance. Therefore, we all decided, “Why
not?” By now it was the afternoon, it was getting
grey and chilly, and I headed home. It got colder and
colder, the wind blew, the rain came, etc. So much for
lovely spring weather.
Today it's the same. It's been raining on and off, the
wind is blowing, it's cold, etc. I picked up Donna Gale,
and we went for the Chinese buffet at Royal
Dragon. Afterwards, we headed to The
Vue to see Pirates
of the Caribbean, At World's End. BORING!! Seemed
to both us us the story could have been told in MUCH less
time! Oh well, it killed some time on a nasty afternoon.
We had a good time anyway.
Tomorrow is a Bank
Holiday, and of course, the weather is to become even
worse, with colder temperature, more rain and blowing
wind! Oh well, just wait awhile, it will change.
Hope all is going well for all of you.
Love,
