Spring
has arrived! Thursday saw our weather begin to take a change
for the brighter an drier! Friday was a glorious day, and
I sat off after work for the Red
Lion to have a pint. Bruce
Corrie called to see where I was, and he soon joined me.
About the time we were planning to leave, in came Rachel
Addison, Karen Whiteley, Martin Wharrie and Paul Cain.
So, we of course had to have a drink with them! As it was
now after 9pm, I said goodbye to all, but the rest stayed
on. I got home, happy and content, prepared a quick dinner
and watched a bit of television before heading to bed.
Saturday dawned lovely, and I went out to get my car washed
at Clifton
Moor Centre. I wasn't the only one with that
idea, as there was a long queue of dirty cars, what with
this being the first nice Saturday in a long time! After
my car was clean, I went back to Clifton Moor Centre to
do a bit of looking for a comfy chair for the flat. Saw
a few, but I'm going to look some more. I drove back into
town, and walked to Newgate
Market to see Teri, Bess and
Arthur Rhodes. I always feel good when I see those people!
Bess is doing so well, and they were all on good form!
We had a nice visit, and then I headed back home. I picked
up my car and drove to the Three
Tuns pub to collect Donna
Gale. She was working there all weekend, and she had from
5-7 free; so we were going to have an early dinner together.
She was out, right on time, and off we headed to the Plough.
I'd chosen that one, with the help of a suggestion from
the Rhodes, as it had nice tables and umbrellas in a lovely
setting outside, the food was good, and it would be not
far from her work. She was so glad I'd thought about dining
outside, as she'd been inside all day looking at the lovely
weather outside. We had good food and a good visit! I took
her back to the Three Tuns in plenty of time for her to
start work again.
Today I was up and getting ready to take my neighbor, Angel,
to the Yorkshire
Dales. His wife, Maribel, couldn't go,
as she had a report to prepare. So off we went to Aysgarth
Falls. It was lovely, as always, and as he'd not been
to the Dales, a new experience for him. We drove back down
the road to the Wensleydale
Heifer, and again, dined outside.
The weather was so nice, it just seemed a shame to be inside!
We had EXCELLENT food, and after that meal, we headed to
Coxwold.
There we visited Shandy
Hall and Newburgh
Priory,
two wonderful places, only open on Sundays between 2-6pm
this month and next. We thoroughly enjoyed our time, and
our travel, and then we headed back to York, arriving a
bit after 6pm. A wonderful day's outing!
So, I hope you all had a good week, that you are all keeping
well, and that all is good with you.
Love,
